Ebonmere is a plane of darkness and death, ruled over by the dread deity Rayse. The plane is a labyrinth of shadowy rivers and pools, with islands of light scattered throughout. The rivers and pools are said to be the embodiment of the waters of death that flow through the multiverse.
The inhabitants of Ebonmere are predominantly undead and fiends, drawn to the plane by Rayse’s power over death. The undead roam the shadowy paths of the plane, seeking out souls to claim for their own. The fiends, meanwhile, plot and scheme in the shadows, seeking to gain power and influence over the other denizens of Ebonmere.
Rayse himself is a mysterious and fearsome figure, known only as the “Gravemind”. He holds dominion over the souls of the dead, and is said to be able to command armies of undead with a single thought. His power is vast, and few who enter his domain ever return to the world of the living.
Despite its dark reputation, Ebonmere is also a place of great power and mystery. The secrets of death and the afterlife are said to be hidden within its dark waters, and many powerful necromancers and other seekers of forbidden knowledge journey there in search of answers. But those who venture into the realm of the Gravemind do so at their own peril, for the shadows of Ebonmere are filled with dangers beyond reckoning.
