Deep beneath the mountains and within the halls of their strongholds, the dwarves of Roshar are a proud and hardy people. With their close relationship to the earth and stone, they have built great cities and strongholds that span the continent of An’talamh. Although their once-great empire has crumbled, the United Kingdoms of United Kingdom of Valammar remains a powerful nation and home to many of their kin.
Dwarves value kinship and loyalty, and they hold their relationship with halflings in high regard, viewing them as cousins. The motto “Rock and Stone” is used to represent this kinship between the two races. The halflings, who reside in the Hallan Protectorate, a protectorate of United Kingdom of Valammar, share this bond with their dwarven allies.
Despite their honourable nature, dwarves are known to hold grudges and are not quick to forgive those who have wronged them. Their rivalry with elves dates back to a time when the Dwarven and Elven empires vied for dominance over the continent, but it is not now fueled by true enmity.
Now, in a time of great change and upheaval, the dwarves of Roshar stand firm in their beliefs and values, ready to defend their homes and allies against any who would threaten them.
