Overview
The Illithid unite mortal, celestial, and abyssal beings against them during Desolations. Since the first Desolations there have been Abhorsen to counter them. An Abhorsen is considered by most to be chosen and empowered by the gods to vanquish the Illithid. Due to this when a nation recognises someone as an Abhorsen they are considered untouchable by the law except for the most heinous of crimes committed. The Abhorsen are not a true organisation and their numbers dwindle between Desolations. As such when rumours of Abhorsen roaming the lands increase, nations and smallfolk alike feel dread.
